About

The club was originally formed in the years of 1968/69 by a dedicated group of Greek immigrants who sought to create a welcoming community space centered around their shared passion for soccer. Over the course of the 1970s and 1980s, the club steadily grew in popularity and performance while competing in the lower leagues, and after years of hard work and perseverance, they finally achieved promotion to the prestigious Victorian Premier League in 1994.

During their tenure from 1994 to 2003, the club notably clinched the minor premiership title on two separate occasions; however, despite their commendable efforts, they were ultimately unable to secure the coveted overall championship title.

Throughout the years, the club committed to enhancing and expanding its facilities, ultimately earning the reputation of having some of the best resources in the state. In the period between 2004 and 2012, the club amassed a diverse array of junior squads and old boys’ teams, alongside women's teams and sub-junior age groups, showcasing its commitment to inclusivity. Notably, several of its talented junior players transitioned to play abroad and participated in the National League, with some still showcasing their skills today in the “A” League.

In 2014, Port Melbourne Sharks proudly stood as one of the inaugural clubs participating in the newly established National Premier Leagues competition. Since that pivotal moment, the club has experienced significant growth in professionalism and has meticulously developed outstanding youth development pathways aimed at nurturing our junior players. By 2019, the club proudly fielded nearly 450 players, encompassing a range from MiniRoos all the way up to Senior Women competing in the Victorian State League and Senior Men in the National Premier Leagues.
